Sorry, thought I'd do above reply, then realized I hadn't introduced myself. 50-something mum with a lovely DH.as well as two big sons: 21 and 18, The cycling mathematician and the weight-lifting rugby player...with a broken wrist atm!

Been trying to cut down on expenditure this past year, but have failed a bit this summer. need to get back to it again as we are needing to get a "new" car as my estate is near the end of it's life. We got it nearly 6 years ago for £800, so it has done pretty well!! It is almost 20 years old now, but there is a crack in the cylinder-head gasket, and replacing that will cost way over £1500!! It will not pass it's MOT without a new one, so we have to get a new car before next Feb. Given its tempramental behaviour lately, we have decided tp try and get one before the end of October, when the road tax is due.

Only recently discovered this thread and haven't worked through much of it yet...will have a go when I am not busy with anything else...so not much chance of that then :rotfl:

Sorry about the long witter...need to read a bit more of this thread...but things to do about the house and garden, so wil come back later. :)

    thanks for the info...
    any info is helpfull...

so are we far from Birmingham then??
Well Forgetful, Warwick Uni is actually on the edge for Coventry, so yes, you are near Birmingham...ish, about 20 miles or so away. Less, depending where you decide where Birmingham starts!! :D

We live to the south, so manage to get there avoiding all motorways, using dual-carriageways instead. :j

Be prepared for "fun" getting your son to his halls on campus...there is a one-way system which they don't relax on arrivals day, but some paths/roads are opened just for the day to access the flats. They do this at the end of the year too :)

We downloaded and printed a map (or two) so we had a good idea of where we were going on campus. You may need to unload the car, then park elsewhere. There is loads of parking available...even multi-stories! Though there will be so many people and cars there tomorrow, it wil be rather hectic!

    Good Luck!!!

I,m sitting here waiting for my Tesco delivery including my 6 x 71p irons . They never have had them in store the many times that I looked so I thought I would see what would happen if I ordered on line . I used the £10 e coupon they sent me and ordered other stuff , and ticked the sub button , so lets see if they send anything.

    morning everyone! :)

such a lovely day and I HAVE TO go to Tesco :( I really really don't want to but need some bits for the party tonight...

and I am picking up my bike today :D that's a bit more exciting...

Today I could do with a glitch on juices, crisps, breadsticks, dips, prunes and bacon... I hope our friend will keep that in mind... ;) Of course I want to be paid to take those away! A few pennies off won't do the trick!

Oh btw, anyone tried this little things for parties(or even for just watching TV):
prunes wrapped in ca.1/4 slice of bacon each on a coctail stick(can be 2 or 3 on one) and in the oven for 10-15 mins :D they are soo yummy! and perfect for a quick party snack... :D

In the leaflets they are giving out instore and also by the tills there is a voucher in there for £1 off frozen food and they also had in my store a lot of the "frozen party food" reduced - so hopefully this will help you xx

Good afternoon everyone, bit late catching up to day.

For any P00le MSEers at Fl33tsbridg3 they had quite a few electrical hedge trimmers SEL £4 reduced from £19.99. I didn't buy one so don't know if they actually do scan at that price and I did not recognise the make, ie. wasn't black and decker.

Small shop for me but got the 2 anti allergy pillows for 10p, there was no slot for them or SEL anywhere they were in where a different make should be. Well chuffed as now got new pillows to go with the freshly washed bedding I even washed the quilts from the 2 empty beds this week.

Another one to look out for is a sleeping bag. SEL for £2.60 reduced from £26, it's a jelly bean one, full 220cm size.

Not much else to report except the SEL for the £1 headphones has finally been changed to that so they will go quick now I guess.

Oh and just remembered SEL and stock of £29 single tecknica portable DVD players.

    See you all later. :)

Oh and forgot to post my O2 pies and beers finally came this morning too and my 250 point clubcard coupon and a free sample of Aquafresh toothpaste I had given up on. So looks like a good day for me all round. And have spoken to DD2 and she has had an amazing first week at uni thank goodness after all the sobbing last friday. Good luck to everyone dropping off tomorrow.
