Hmmmmm, I'd forgotten about this. Do you still basically self certify your usage and pay the tax based on your own declaration?0 -
Just remembered I promised someone a barcode for zhuzhu castle earlier - it is:
77799 00657
Hope you find one, they are a great buy at £20 -

What self certify? I've never used it as I've only once had a diesel (Land Rover Defender) but I only had it a week (made a quick buck on it) and I've never heard of anyone self certifying. I used to frequent a Land Rover forum (I've owned a few of them in my time) and if memory serves me correctly then as long as you don't use any more than 2,500 litres a year then you don't have to pay duty on it. As there is technically no way of proving if you've used more, or less than 2,500 litres then you're home free. There is also nothing stopping you pouring waste veg oil in your tank but that requires a filtration system and what not. If I had kept my Defender my plan was to run it on waste engine oil, after it had been forced through a few filters and mixed with a bit of normal diesel of course.
:D
If you're going to play about with veg oil start small, say a quarter of a tank of oil to three quarters of a tank of normal diesel, slowly increasing the amount of oil you put in the tank. Some people on the Land Rover forum said they could run on 100% veg oil but in the winter months could only run on 25% veg oil.0 -
Just seen this on HUKD http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/6-10-packs-coke-sainburys-brunel-for-80p-1-40-1045349#comments could be a good deal for all looking for toys in the morning.
My mrs will need it as she's still not back from MrTs as yet and still has to get up at 5am for the toy deal. ouch.0 -

Hmmm, interesting!! I will check into this. The OH drives a fabia SDI which I'm told is very well suited to running veggie oil. I have used all the old chip fat fryer oil in the past to top up tanks of fuel, I just filtered it through a couple of layers of kitchen roll in a funnel and let it strain overnight. Comes through nice and clean.
Food for thought, thanks!0 -

Yup, but doing that doesn't get the moisture and other s h 1 t out of the oil. Some people set up centrifuges to do it right:eek:
It's been a while since I've been on the LR forum but if I can be bothered I'll nip over and see what I can find on it again.
***DO NOT CONTEMPLATE USING WASTE ENGINE OIL IN AN ORDINARY CAR*** Land Rover engines are just basically old, simple tractor engines and will run on anything, cats p i $ $ even, but more modern cars that have optical fuel sensors won't like it one little bit.0 -
Batteries worked but no luck with the Tbrushes, Oh well u win some an all that.0

not got time to catch up on the 25pgs :-s
but here are my treasures from today (i went with a friend so these were between us from 4 different stores)
9* go cook knife sets 3for2 sticker OOD got 3 from 3 different but one store didnt write on my receipt so took 3 back on ad worked out got 6 for free :-) sneaky i know...
about 10 1p toy story bags
2x60p bed rails one pink for my friend and one blue for me (walkden no more on shelf) ive hunted everywhere for these as im desperate for one for my son who is about a week away from climbing out of his cot :-s
New innocent juice 2or£3 but instore a tester lady was giving out £1 off vouchers so used 2 and paid £1 for both :-)
a few sets of the £1 mens PJ sets blue bottoms white tshirt top with writing on SEL £14 but scanned £1
2x4p mens short sleeved vests tops only red and grey scan at this price SEL £4
and finally 12x OOD SEL on TCOs BOGOF but scanned at £2 each (which is the new offer) took it to CS and got a DTD £24 so 12xFREE TCO's:beer: even better than the 6 i got for about 25p each :T
initially found these in the 2nd store we went to and again in 3rd but the SEL was just turned upright pointing to the ceiling but still in plain sight for everyone to see so picked up some more got my innocent juices and paid then off to CS to say been overcharged. supervisor came back sayin no they are £2. so the SEL must have been removed in this time(no more than 10mins from seeing it to going to CS). my friend (shes better than me :j) was explaining it was there and there were 2 ppl checking labels and stuff and the stupid cow basically accused us of lying and was very rude saying she turned everyone of the labels round at 5am when she started even rang up a college at at football match and asked if she had turned them around. then said she finished at 2pm and we didnt even arrive at the store till around 2.15 so clearly wasnt her!! in the end ended up on phone to head office who sed they would send us out a gift card for £12 so honouring the BOGOF but no DTD so accepted it and walked off then realised we had actually bought 24  12 each so now trying decide whether to get our refund for them so get £12 between us for our troubles but feel a bit bad cause already was a bit sneaky with the knives.....0 -
Official policy communicated to all Tesco staff:
From Monday, 31 October we will no longer accept coupons from other retailers. This includes all types of coupons issued by Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Morrisons, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer, Co-op , Aldi etc, including their spend and save, Brand Match and Price Guarantee vouchers.
We have made this change because:
- We are committed to helping our customers spend less and always having the best price on their favourite brands and on our own label ranges.
- We have already dropped the price on the nation’s shopping list with over 3000 ‘Price Drops’ which are simple and straightforward. Everyone saves, every basket gets cheaper and we want to continue investing in great prices for our customers rather than in refunding our competitors’ vouchers.
- We have seen a significant increase in the amount of coupons our competitors are issuing, not least as they are having to refund their customers when we are cheaper than them.
- We are the only retailer to accept competitor coupons
The new Tesco coupon policy is simple - we accept all Tesco and supplier /product coupons as long as the customer has purchased the product. We will continue to issue, and therefore accept, Tesco Price Check coupons to our customers in the rare occasion their shopping would have been cheaper in Asda and will continue to invest a huge amount in rewarding our customers with Tesco spend and save and Clubcard points coupons.
I have bolded one part to show that the previous information given by a couple of new members is completely rubbish.
Tesco will NOT accept coupons if you have not purchased the product.Remember You're a Womble !! Keep Tesco Tidy. :beer:0
