MsBrightside wrote: »FINALLY got some glitches, after lots of wasted journeys! Finally found the plenty. The SA on checkout pressed her bell immediately to alert someone to the low price, lest I bankrupt Tesco! Found 1 casserole dish with right barcode, been looking for ages but thought I was looking for the 1.25l not 1l! No impulse though.
No smarties or aero at tesco exp still, I know the manager of another branch who said they have been told to remove them from sale.
Pleased I finally found some bargains! I'm in MK.
I found some 1p toy story gift bags yesterday, great for boys end of term class pressies instead of wrapping, picked a young lad cashier (don't ask why I couldn't go through self scan - had already drawn attention to myself there earlier) he said oh they're 1p, to which I said yes great deal they are on the party section - why that would make them ok to be 1p I don't know. So he scanned them all.:T
Not like the old trout in the express when I finally found some smarties who said I could only have 6 pkts of smarties because they were on offer! DD got 6 too thoughbut when DH tried they had hidden them

I never got any smarties or aero - as we don't have an express - and if we did i'd of only bought a some - because they still cost money ! They were an offer !!! Not a freebie to grab as much as poss - if someone bough 100 packets then it still cost them £27 - I could not spend that much on choc - but isn't up to the buyer how much they can afford ! The more you can afford the more you get - and hope you get there first ! My boys know he who picks the toy up first gets to play with it !!!!0

To some extent I agree; if there is a DTD it's a one chance only event, you get what you need and the SEL comes down, but when there's a glitch it's good to share - I've even shared with other shoppers when I'm buying things on a glitch! Buying by the case is just plain greedy. Maybe they work for Tesco? I can't imagine taking a case of anything but wine through the checkouts.
Of course they are not going to take it back, and I have no wish to get into arguments. I'm just curious as to what drives people to do this? No family NEEDS this amount of Smarties. So I can only conclude that it's for financial gain at the expense of their fellow MSEers.
Actually I NEEDED this amount of smarties as I'm filling fish bowls with them;););) for a party, and just for the record I didnt clear any Express of them, just went to lots but I did buy them by the case! So hopefully I've satified your curiousity of one MSE'er;)Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:0 -
Re the plenty the four pack is on the shelf at my local big store for £3.00. The get two free 4 pack = 6 rolls were on the top shelf to the right AND left but carefully placed so the "two free yellow stripe" wasn't showing. Had the staff hidden them ?
I got a tall man to get some down, asked a sales assistant to scan them as I was sure they were cheaper, went through as 1.84 each. HTH
Lol, I am tall and often have a root through top stock, I get some looks from staff but haven't been trouted for doing it yet.0 -
might be a daft question but whats trouted ??? lol0

Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm not a newbie, I'm a regular poster on here. But I'm frankly appalled at the greediness of some MSEers.
Why on earth would anybody need that amount of Smarties? Perhaps to sell on eBay?
Don't you ever think of the other MSEers in your area, who perhaps went out hoping to get half a dozen packs only to find some self-centred idiot had had the lot?
Rant over
Do you live near Handforth by any chance ?0 -

How to say this without sounding cheeky or ungrateful
Thanks to all those who found posts relating to the FireAngel Carbon Monoxide alarms but I had meant I thought someone else had posted about them on here. I made a note about them yesterday before I left but Firefox was playing up so I forgot to go back and check what the poster had said.
The HUKD post was from a week or two ago so that still doesn't explain how I would have read it yesterday. I thought maybe they were supposed to scan cheaper than the SEL but now I'm going mad trying to find out why I was to look for them.
Hope that made sense and didn't sound ungrateful.0
