i found one of the scales going through at £39.97, bought it, went to get DTD and CSA refused to give me DTD as it is a "manufacturer fault" not theirs :( refunded the difference but not double :(

Surely its up to tesco to have the correct SEL for the correct product? And to at least check it? I'd phone headoffice 0800 505555 and ask is this correct ?
I've only had DTD once on Tinned tomatoes and it was an out of date SEL - but i'd think you were within your rights? try and let us know !

Defo call them. Their promise is if you are overcharged, there is no small print with exclusions. It always someone elses fault. If they agree, tell them to inform the store in question that youll be going in for the refund and then you can be smug and pretty much guarentees you dtd without probs in the future. I never have to ask anymore and get lots of polite chatter and smiles, god only knows what they say once im gone!
Keep the number in your phone and do it instore if younhave probs in future.
Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.
