They were missing everything, not just the chicken. It was !!!!-a-leekie and there was only a few grains of rice and two lumps of leeks in the can. I'll still eat them, I'll either have a sandwich with them or pour two or 3 cans through a strainer then add the veg to one unstrained can.
Err, can't you dice some random veg to add to the soup ?
And a bit of chicken ? Thats what the soup manufacturers do.

Yeah but I shouldn't have to though should I?

The whole idea of getting 50 odd cans of free soup was to save money, if I go round buying chicken and veg it defeats the object a bit doesn't it?

Although I think I've some frozen chicken breasts in the freezer so that could be one way to use them up.

Was the 8p casserole dish a Tesco or pyrex (tm)?
I miss too many pages due to work so if you need an answer from me, please send me a PM.

  • I was just checking my wombled price check receipts online and found an odd one!

May well be over now as the receipt was dated 11th a tuesday - or as we know it double glitch deal day!

    anyhow receipt was a follows

    Yoghurt breaks 2.69
    Yoghurt breaks 2.69

    total 5.38

    go ahead 6pk 2 F £3.50 -£1.88
    mcvities 6Pk BOGOF - £2.69

    total savings £4.57

makes them 81p each - as shown on my returned price check receipt - compares to £4.00 in ASDA.

As i said it was probably just on tuesday for this one as the price changeover ovbiously took both discounts into account but as these are often on offer might be worth keeping an eye on for nect changeover??

    HTH!

One small slice of chicken shredded plus the eqivelent of half a carrot will turn one tin into a nice bowl of soup, or tip it down the drain , its your choice.
If you choose to tip it away you get no value from it, for a little effort & very little money you get a wholesome bowl of soup (probably better than a manufactured one).
    Still its up to you.

It was bad on daybreak that joke yesterday am. Didnt stop me telling it to a client with a broken Blackberry though! Br4df0rd valley p4rade didnt have the glass cooking dishes, didnt have green and blacks, was going through at full price. Did however have quite alot of lap trays(bean bag bottomed) that were reduced so dunno if it may be of use to anyone with Grannies for xmas? Also, alot of suntan lotion Ambre solair etc for £3.50, new design bottle so should be good for next year.
