I have my marrowfat peas cooking away nicely in my very OS thermal cooker (cooks slowly with no electricity or other energy source!)
My mushy peas are gonna accompany salmon fish cakes and real chips!!! (... And thickly buttered bread and a mug of tea of course!)
Not very posh but the potatoes and salmon were both whoopsied so costs pence per head!
Gotta love Tesco for cheap ingredients!
My treat on new years eve....smoked salmon from M and S every year....Your meals sound lovely

My favourite 'appliance'.
It is basically a lidded pot in which you bring the contents to a rolling boil. Then quickly transfer pot and contents into the thermal container. A few hours later your food is perfectly cooked by the initial heat of the pot when transferred. Food never burns and the food is perfect EVERY time.
Works great for mushy peas, rice, stews, chilli con carne, rice pudding, etc!
HIGHLY recommended.
We use it when going to a buffet when bringing a dish is requested. A slow cooked biriani goes down a treat on such occasions.
We also put a meal in it before we set off on hols. Gorgeous hot meal ready when we arrive. We also do a pasta meal when heading off for the beach. Smells fab when you take off the lid and everyone else is just snacking on hot dogs etc.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
