  • Last night I had a can of the free Campbell's *cough* Baxters *cough* !!!!-a-leekie soup and when I emptied the can in to the pan I had a pan full of water with a few grains of rice, 2 lumps of leek and even though it says on the can that there is chicken in the soup I couldn't find any. A quick email to Baxters later to complain and I got a quick response asking for the number off the bottom of the can and when I replied that I had another 10 cans in the cupboard all with the same code I would be disappointed if they were all like that. I got another quick reply saying they were sending me some vouchers to cover the cost of my soup. :D

I did get a lumie light for another MSE'er and sent it, but there is a way to do it discreetly. Some of the posts that just had "Have got... will swap for" reminded me of the old multi-coloured swap shop on a Saturday morning:o showing my age! And it was obvious it would get closed.
Think the electrical thread could be shut soon because of stroppiness:rotfl::rotfl:Looks like it kicked off on there last night;)

Oh dear, what happened on the electrical thread as it's too long for me to read. :(

The latest I went was 11 days overbaked when DS1 finally made an appearance. DS2 should have been out sooner but they had concerns about his weight so left him in a bit longer. Mind you it worked out for the best as he's a St Patricks Day baby which over here guarantees he'll have a great birthday  (when he reaches 18 obviously).

ive got 5, was only late with one (that was the longest 2 days of my life), it seemed like everyone i knew bumped into me to say "ohh havent you had it yet?" "well actually no that why i stil llook like a beached whale in a tent" im sure she was waiting for her own birthday, she was due on my goddaughters and my grans was the next day she arrived 19mins past midnight.

As regards the toy & electrical threads, I have to quietly admit I'm glad the toy one has closed as the swaps were taking over. One fairly new user even had the cheek to not only try to swap toys she had but also some halloween costumes (if memory serves) and all this just a few posts after MSE Andrea had posted a reminder to not swap details. That was the final straw for me and I haven't looked at that thread since.

I'm all for a bargain and spreading the love but when new users come on and keep bumping the thread for their own personal gain and disregard the rules on here then the only outcome was going to be the thread getting closed. I hope the noobies are happy with themselves as most regulars were more subtle but again, those with no regard for anyone but themselves got a good thread shut.

There's stuff I would have loved but I wasn't about to post a begging note asking for a laptop for my poor sick child or clear the shelf of cheap toys in the hope of swapping them for something I could probably have afforded to get given time. These glitches are all about luck and none are guaranteed yet some seem to think they have the god given right to get these cheap toys/electricals and ignore the rules clearly set out on this forum.

So anyway, does anyone have a Rescue Mater to swap for some custard or jelly :rotfl:

And yes, I'm tired and grumpy and I have no idea if anyone on this thread has done any swaps but the Elite are excluded from my rant :T

it must be a glitch my daughter is also expecting a girl and is 6 days overdue filled her cupboards from glitches and vouchers with easy cook food so she had less to do when baby born but now they are eating it all
  • F e c k me, I was just looking at my credit card statement online and I nearly dropped my drink when I saw how much I'd spent since the 3rd (statement date) then I remembered that TalkTalk gave me the opportunity to pay for my line rental a year in advance for £114 saving me over £50 (How very MSE). So anyone with TalkTalk want to save them selves some money sign in to your account and you will be given an option to pay for your line rental a year in advance.

I'm all for people doing the odd swap but clearing the shelves of something you don't want/need to swap later or sell is a bit off.

I haven't got anything apart from one camera from the recent electrical sale and I'm more than happy. I would love a video camera but I'm not posting begging posts, if one happens to come my way then so be it.

I got a phonecall from Talk Talk a few weeks ago asking if I wanted to take them up on this offer.. but since Ive been having such a lot of problems with Talk Talk recently, I begrudge paying 12 months in advance incase I decide to move to another supplier..

But as you say, it is a good deal, the only thing that would worry me is, their customer service is next to none now, Im afraid it will get worse as they know youve committed yourself to them for a whole 12 months... My thoughts only
