look at buying single each way train tickets instead of a return, usually cheaper to do it that way

you may be able to fly birmingham to durham tees valley (formerly teesside airport) then a taxi to into darlington will cost approx.£10, there is a train but im not sure of time table. and its only 8 miles or so away from the centre of darlington.

I dont think the cheap rail fares have been released yet for Easter dates anyway, thats why you probably wont find anything online....I think they are out on Thursday this week but you will need to be quick, they will go fast.

wow, direct flights are over £600 with BA,
but i looked on ryanair and you can fly birminham-dublin for £19.99+taxes
then dublin to durham tees valley for 19.99 euros+taxes (all per person),
the flights are pretty close together so you would only be spending an hour or so in the airport.
good luck with what ever you decide. and try get booked to see a show in darlington theatre, some good stuff on there.

The taxes alone on that ryanair flight would be around £50.....

I would wait until Thursday when the cheap train fares for over Easter are released.....and if you cant manage to find anything from there....my 2nd option would be by coach, £38.50 each return

There is a free bus from Teesside airport into Darlington centre if you decide on a flight.

We always use the National Express from Darlington to Leicester when visiting family.
Also remember to use a discount code if using National Express, there are some 10% off ones kicking about somewhere.
