JSA-receiving payments

Hello.

Trying to complete online JSA application.
It asks how you want to be paid.....into an account or at post office.

Does "at a post office" mean getting a giro and cashing it?

Don't want payments into bank account due to financial troubles/offsetting.

Haven't opened a basic bank account yet....right this minute don't even have a spare pound.

Just want clarification of what "at the post office" means.

Thank you.

It means into an account you open at the post office. It's a basic account no £1 needed. http://www2.postoffice.co.uk/counter-services/counter-money-services/pensions-and-benefits

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
