Solar energy - Feed-in Tariff payment delays - your experiences?

I signed up with SSE on 21 July 10 and subsequently received an email from them saying payments would be made within 65 working days.
I consider 65 days to be grossly excessive and have issued SSE with several letters of complaint. SSE in reply say theyre working hard to reduce the payment period. However they give no details of when this might happen.
I'll probably take this issue up with OFGEM - will keep you posted
Garbage, isn't it? How much work does it take to arrange for payments to be made immediately?
I'd be interested to hear Ofgem's comments - I think this is going to be a growing area of complaints.0 -
We rang our reading in to Scottish Power. We were told it would be paid within 28 days but it was actually paid within 14 days. The FIT statement giving the breakdown was later though ~ about another 2 weeks. Hope it continues this smoothly!0

British Gas conveniently input my first reading against the install date, so the date had 2 readings of 0 and 800 odd units. So guess what, no cheque was generated  seems a bit convenient to me.
Also their 28 workink days is of course 6 weeks.0 -
Ecotricity 2 months (in theory), but 2 days late so far on my first payment. On the plus side, they haven't charged me for any electricity since June as so far they've been unable to arrange for a (working) consumption meter to be fitted - original meter went backwards when I was generating more than I was using and the replacement (fitted by Eon three weeks ago) hasn't moved in either direction!0

The first meter readings I submitted to EDF were in September my system has 2 generation meters and when submitting my readings on the one form I added the two together they have since been changing all there systems and have been in a right pickle so this time I had to submit my readings for each meter individually, in the mean time I was doing my intenet banking last week and I had a payment go into my account from EDF for £893
I can only presume they paid me 2 lots of fit tarrifs and I have informed them and are now sorting it out you would have thought being that much it might have sent alarm bells ringing but no.

Scotish Power First FIT payment. I was told up to 28 days and payment came into the bank after 18 days. I was advised to give them my first meter reading by telephone, which I did. I will try the next one by email ( end of January so a small one)to see how that goes. Well pleased so far0

Did post #22 apply to the payment ?

The most annoying thing about the FIT payment is that you are not entitled to the payment for energy generated before registering despite the fact that all certificates certify the reading as zero at installation losing upto £100+pounds in the process as the "paperwork is slow" to come through to allow registration - a bit of a rip off!!0
-
Not if you register at this time of year :-)

good energy are now rolling along very nicely and providing regular quarterly payments. I get an e mail to provide the fit reading and then an e mail on receipt of the reading. A few hiccoughs to start with, when it seemed chaotic but it has settled into a nice pattern and I am happy0
