Sorry to be a pain but just need some advice. I've been through the Q and As on EBay but I'm after advice from sellers. I'm a regular buyer and I'm about to sell for the first time. Should I verify my paypal account ( the items are likely to fetch £150 or so or should I sign up with Nochex or both?
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

Nochex has a limit on amounts you can receive and you need to check that limit as I think it is quite low, about the £100 mark. I used to offer nochex on my auctions but I think over a period of years it was only ever used twice, so I tend not to bother with it now.
Most of my auctions are paid for by paypal, although I do try to push bank transfers without much success.

Paypal is great until things go wrong. You have to be careful when selling high value items, because you are more at risk from Paypal chargebacks."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0

Many thanks, coincidentally, I've just won an item. I know I should have looked, but I didn't realise till afterwards that they don't do Paypal or Nochex. I did check their feedback, but I'm so used to using paypal that I never looked. The seller wants paying by cheque, postal order or banker's draft. The last time I paid by cheque I never received the item and I said never again. I spoke to my bank its £10 for a draft and I believe a postal order isn't any safer than a cheque. Any advice please
Thanks again.0 -
Cheques, postal orders or bank drafts give no protection to the buyer so you might as well use a cheque as it least it doesn't cost you anything.

Standard Accounts can only receive £90 per day and cannot have a balance of more than that £90.
Seller accounts which are Xtra enabled (I think they all are) can receive £100 per day from non-members via Credit/Debit cards and there is no limit on your NoChex balance. After your probationary period as a member with NoChex this limit can be increased to £300 per day from non-members. I believe the probationary period is 41 days.
You can request a higher limit per transaction but it's at their discretion and you'll need to provide some justification for transactions >£300 per customer.0 -
