  • Thanks guys - I did put £30 on the Barclaycard and got another 4 presents ticked off the list, but didn't splurge horribly like I thought I might!

Thats not bad going TT! Good for you for not splurging and having self discipline!

I've not done a single thing about Christmas shopping yet, must get a list done soon!

Hope you are having a good week :)

def sounds like you've kept under control your spending which is a really good sign.
  • Having a good week thanks..hope you guys are too! I've had a bit of a promotion at work - doesn't work out as much more money than now, but maybe an extra £50 or so a month which can go towards debt busting! Yay! I will also be due a bit of back pay, again not sure how much this will be. I'm not even thinking about it tbh, as then anything I get will be a bonus! It will all go towards the dreaded OD. It'll be a good boost actually - to have a lump sum to start me off after the CC payoff :)

  • Hey,

    I love DF Diaries :D

I'm glad your DF journey is going well, and that your DFD is so soon! That must be very motivating.

I was looking at someone's signature and it said something like "MF in 100 months" and I was thinking - wow, that's hardly any time. But that's just over 8 years. My MF date is in 12 years which is 144 months - which sounds a lot less (to me it does anyway!) Maybe if you start counting down the months (22) it may spur you on more

Either way, you are doing fantastically well :D

  • Thank you Greensaints :) You're right 22 months doesn't sound bad at all!
Good luck with your journey too! Hurrah to having one of your debts gone by February...not far off at all really! Plus an AMAZING amount cleared in 2011 :) Well done!

great news about the extra pay. I'm also getting a temporary pay rise for upto 12 months so i'm making sure that every penny of it goes towards my debt as it's money i don't want to start to rely on and i've done that too many times over the past 10 years or so
  • Lemon Tree - oooh maybe it will carry on after 12 months? But well done for planning for it to go towards debt! I secretly am hoping for some back pay as that will make a big chunk into the OD...

Ok todays plan is to pop to Aldi to stock up on veg and yoghurt for the week - I seem to have an excess of carbs in the house (pasta, potatoes, cereal and bread) so have planned this weeks meals around them, including making a batch of jacket potatoes in the oven and freezing them. Todays spend should be under £10, won't need fuel until the middle of the week, £5 for my weekly class, so hopefully quite a low spend week!

Might pop in and look for a few more Christmas prezzies though... I'm feeling very on the ball this year...have even bought my wrapping paper! Although it's going on the Barclaycard this will be paid off on the 14th so I don't feel too bad about it.

i was lucky that i got some back pay and they said it was possibly 12 months from when they told me i was getting it. I just had to ignore the fact i'd been doing the extra work for in excess of 12 months but they only paid back pay for 4 months or so. begars can't be chosers and all that! fingers crossed you get some back pay.

i did some chrissy shopping yesterday and today, but have to admit i bought my wrapping paper in the days after christmas (when i also bought pressy's for pretty much all of OH's family cept his parents.
  • Yargh diesel bills are crippling me. Put another £50 in today - that's £50 a week for the last 3 weeks. Now have £36 to last me 12 days (inc prob more fuel). I have a horrible feeling that I'll have to put something on the credit card :(:( only temporary but still!

Right...off to ebay/gumtree with hope!!! If I can just make £10 or £20 I think it can be done without the CC....
