Can a partner of a student claim income based JSA?

Hi,
I have looked through all the guidance I can find on the net but cannot find an answer to this query and would really appreciate it if anyone can answer the following question.
My partner is a student and in receipt of a student maintenance loan of around £4700. It looks likely that I will lose my job in the near future and will claim contribution based JSA for six months. If I am still out of work after that time how will my partner's maintenance loan and student status impact on my ability to claim income based JSA?
Many thanks for your help
Suzanne

Any income of your partner will be taken into account, which includes student loans0

The maintanence loan, maintanence grant, and bursary from the university which is not for course related costs will count as income towards your claim.

Your partner may be able to claim an Adult Dependents Grant as part of his student finance package if you are not working. This will also count as income for benefits purposes but I think would still leave you better off as a couple.
