He remembered me when I came home!
:rotfl:
We had a practice skype last week and she looked all confused when I was calling her name, so I don't think I'll be doing that again. I was only down the road at the time!
Obviously someone had to set up the skype for her, she IS clever but not THAT clever

give her time. My cat, one of them, used to answer our amstrad phone when she could see it was my mother calling. I'd come home and they'd been chatting for ages. Also, she LOVES skype, and yells ''down the computer'' at dh when he's away.0 -
Your dog will be fine and remember you. I used to run a home boarding kennels in France and had many dogs living with me for 6 months in quarantine, they all settled in very well and all went home and happy to their owners. I had a dog when I was younger and I left to work abroad (the dog lived with my parents in the same house) when I came home once a year for a few weeks you would swear he didnt know I had left. So dont worry, as long as they are well cared for it is fine.0

I remember seeing some lovely, heart touching you tubes of dogs greeting their returning soldier owners in the USA - men who had been away up to a year. Im sure your dog will remember you - just make sure you bring him home a lovely pressie

OMG just watched some vids, brillant!! Having a dog as a best friend is the best thing in the world. My little girl is going to be well looked after and she is going to be spoilt rotten when I get home.:j
Thanks everyone

I guess a VERY large pile of dried food and a bowl of water is out of the question?
Thought so! just asking cos it worked for the wife.0 -
The dog will remember you - and will be delighted to have you back.
The cats here - well, one in particular, but all of them to some extent - dash up when I'm on the phone to the boyfriend - not because I'm talking, because they generally talk to me all day anyway - but make a point of listening to his voice. They have no interest when anyone else calls.
My first cat was taken by my ex when she was under a year old, but she would dash out of his house and practically throw herself at me for fuss 18 years later. Our daughter said that she was the most antisocial animal imaginable in his house - would only associate with her or her granddad, and was happy - but as soon as she heard me outside to pick her up, was scrambling down the stairs to come and see.
And cats have a far greater capacity for holding a grudge than the simple souls that are their canine cousins.
I would, however, expect to be shadowed upon your return. 24 hours a day.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
