Permanent seasonal contract and tax credits

I'm due to start my training in a few weeks, and have been told that I will be offered a contract for a seasonal position early next week.
The contract will be a permanent contract, but obviously seasonal. I'll be working approx two weeks over Christmas, Easter, and six weeks throughout the summer.
Does anyone know how my tax credits will be worked out as I'll be going long periods with no wage at all.

    I currently claim at the moment. I have 2 children and a partner that works, so we claim CTC and my partner gets WTC. It's just how they will work out the amounts that confuses me, since I won't be working from Easter to Christmas, but I will still be employed :/

    You need to work out how much you will earn during those times and give that figure to tax credits (so anything you earn between now and the end of the tax year in April 2012). I'm not so knowledgeable on joint claims, but I think the rules are changing at some point re: how many hours you have to work. Does that help?

    For income it's your annual income over the tax year which will count, it's irrelevant when in the year you earn it.

    For hours (to get WTC entitlement and the 30h element entitlement) it's more complicated - but if your partner works over 30 hours it won't make any difference what hours you work - just annual income as above.
