I have a standing order from my Santander Preferred In Credit Rate Current Account, but today they took it out twice (once at midnight, and once this afternoon.) Has this happened to anyone else? I sent them a message on online banking.

Thanks,
Yes, but to be fair I was fiddling with it. I changed the amount just after it was paid at midnight on friday - and then it went out again at 9am (by BACS grr!)0 -
I did change the number of payments, but a few days before. Luckily the second payment didn't have a massive affect on my balance, but it could have done!0

Reply from Santander:
Thank you for your email.
I have checked your account and can confirm that regular transfer payment to account xxxxxxxxxxxxx for £xxxxxxxxxxx was debited twice on 26/09/2011. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Regrettably I am unable to reverse this transaction via secure messenger. To do this please contact our dedicated Banking Team on 08459 724724 (Mon-Sun 7am-11pm) and we will be happy to assist you.
I hope this is helpful. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sounds about right for Santander!Rule 7: If you're not changing it, you're choosing it.

Also had this happen to me earlier this week - luckily it was a standing order to another one of my accounts, so could just return one of them - what happened when you contacted their team?0

Well I suppose it beats the Santander !!!! up of last week when payments by standing order from other banks to Santander were refused and sent back to their originating backs all 27000 of them!0
