£2 this morning from surveys. How do you earn from facebook?

I have a business page for my old (and now resurrected) jewellery business, I managed to get 8000+ fans on it over the years so I like to squeeze them for sales every now and then :o

I fill it with pictures of my stuff and prices and hold the occasional sale/special offer to keep people buying on there as it's cheaper than Folksy or other places cos no fees (except paypal fees! but you can always do cash on collection.) You can set up a free shopfront on your business page (I think it's called payvment) but I never bothered, the pictures do fine.

I think other people use buy and sell pages, I haven't tried those but assume it works the same sort of way.

sorry to hear that CP :( feel better very soon.

Thanks Aesop. Bet you must think i'm always ill. Lol.

Nat i can understand why you would be upset, and to be honest i could not afford to donate £80! It would be different if they paid for the ingredients i think. But then again, what goes around comes around so hopefully something good will happen for you soon.

Really feel like pulling out but I've become quite good friends with the organisers. Money's tightish too and I begrudge spending out £80 for something I wont even be part of. I know its for charity but I do feel like they're taking the mickey.

    nat, me personally?

I would say no. If you cannot advertise your business, not even an acknowledgement on a poster, and you are paying for the ingredients, your time, not an invite to the ball, is a pretty raw deal.

I am all for supporting charities but it has to be my choice how I support them.

My friend is doing a fundraiser next year for a charity that helped her after her son died last year, which I think is great. But she never told me, I found out through facebook and when I said to her I had seen it, and what a great idea, she was complaining none of her friends were doing anything to help her.

I said she could have a big teddy bear that belongs to DS for her charity auction, brand new, he has never played with it, etc. She said thanks but she has no room in her flat to store it, as she is expecting another child this christmas. Then she asked me to ask all the local shopkeepers if they would consider donating to her charity.

I have declined because I don't have the time for it, and would have to explain it is not me doing the fundraising. I know the shopkeepers where I live, so they would think it was for me.

Sometimes, even when you are friends, you have to say no. Especially when it is a lot of hard work for you too.

Have had a few spendy days but knew it would be so! Took my Niece shopping yesterday for an outfit for her Birthday which of course also meant morning coffee and lunch out! Well it is nice to be able to treat her once in a while. I have 3 nieces from my Sister so I alternate between them all on trips out.
However, I did manage to make some savings on some dungarees for her which were reduced from £20 to £6, well it would have been rude not to.:) Also got a petrol voucher from Mr S* and my car was pretty low so a good saving there:j I realised today that I haven't filled my car up for 3 weeks which is amazing for me. I have definitely been making decisions as to whether I really need to drive or not and it has paid off:)
Anyway off to update signature and diary. Tomorrow a new start to a new week - bring it on:D:D

Im feeling slightly annoyed. I am due to make 230 cupcakes for a charity ball this weekend for free, the same ball I also did last year. After last year I was told that I would be invited to this years ball as a thank you but I've now been told there are no tickets available as they are all sold out. Feeling slightly used, I dont make a penny out of this and actually lose money as I pay for all the ingredients. It'll take me 1.5 days to make them all and Im not even allowed to advertise this year(I did last year and didnt get a single order/enquiry from it!). Really feel like pulling out but I've become quite good friends with the organisers. Money's tightish too and I begrudge spending out £80 for something I wont even be part of. I know its for charity but I do feel like they're taking the mickey.

Nat if it was me i would just let them know that you are unable to help this year due to limited time and finances - as you are friendly with the organisers they should understand that :) if you want to still help why not make a donation of say £20 instead? that way you are still showing your support but saving yourself a lot of time effort and money.

Just sent a complaint in to Thermos as bought a flask that 2 days later the glass had smashed inside, not happy when craving tea and cant have!!!

Had to swap for a metal one at additional cost of £4 as worried it may happen again, tesco have complained on my behalf but i just emailed Thermos and asked for my money back - by cheque, not credit on another of their goods.

    Fingers crossed!!!
