It is definitely worth complaining about sub-par food. I once found a lump of "gunk" in a packet of Tyrrells crisps; they had me send it to them, which I did. Ended up with a long letter after they'd done an investigation... turns out the gunk was either a big chunk of seasoning mix OR possibly grease from the manufacturing equipment (but they assured me only food-safe grease was used)... AND a big box of assorted Tyrrells crisps!
I've also complained about mouldy fruit and food that smells of plastic (biscuits, vegetable oil), at the least you'll get a replacement, some stores like Waitrose give you double the purchase price back (Tescrap wouldn't do that for the veg oil, though... only gave me a replacement bottle of oil).
I don't complain if food has gone bad after it's gone out of date... but if it's in-date and inedible (or unappealing, like the chunk of gunk in the crisps), then I definitely will say something.
Food is expensive enough without having to throw away in-date food that's gone off!R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was. :sad:0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
Aesop, Nat you both sound like you need a hug :grouphug: Hope you both get your situations sorted out, how crap for you bothI don't know about anyone else, this could just be me cos I'm a very emotional person
but sometimes if one thing is upsetting me or getting me down it doesn't take much else to shuv me right overboard! It can be the smallest thing that gives me the push as well.. DH leaving his shoes in the middle of the floor etc.. sounds silly now, but when I'm on one of my little rants it all seems perfectly rational
Anyway, focus sweet! I've now got over £20 in my little stash of lovelinessplus bit more ebay to add as well, so will tally up and update my total. I doubt I'm going to make my target this month cos most of what I'm making extra I'm having to use to live off.. but some stuff I'm just refusing or I'll never get my stash up for the hol.
We've also landed 3 extra shifts out of the 4 available over the weekend for people that have changed their mind last minute etc. All good! :j Won't add that until the Nov challenge tho as that's when we'll get the over time
sweet xx
ps - Thrifty , you do right! I'm the same if something's not right I complain!0 -
Update for me. I've got my gumtree voucher through and processed that so going to add my £10 otherwise I'll forget, even though I may need it in november. Also just ordered a box of £10 chocolate for £1 through work so going to add that £9 too.
Off to update my total with the £19..still got bonus to add when I get my payslip from MIL's.You have to start to finish.

I have to be honest that usually there are only two or threads that I read daily, I rarely pop out of my comfort zone. I was pleasantly surprised to see some names I recognise from coupons - :hello: Aesop.- Im so sorry you are feeling overwhelmed - Im always a sure thing for an invisible hug so have one from me!
This is a fascinating thread and one I will pop by regularly - you are all an inspiration. Ive tiptoed in and out of online surveys, just got a bit disilluisioned when, after spending precious time, I then get a "not suitable" kind of message. I kind of leave ebay to my husband, but I do like car boot sales and have had a few fairly successful ones selling freebies and some home crafted items. Sadly I lost my eldest daughter two years ago and I have often felt disabled by grief. My concentration, well not just that, everything really, is difficult to gain control of, I feel like I must have left my life-mojo somewhere with no forwarding address. I get on my own nerves most of the time and desperate to find a new distraction so that I can start to move forward.
Financially we are one of those families where by the skin of our teeth we get through - just. Lots of "Peter and Paul" going on, going without, cutting back, "waiting", the dread when something important breaks down (as I type Washing machine (8 yrs old) is on last legs, freezer leaks, oven door needs replacing, car bills and so it goes on...)
Am feeling newly inspired by you guys and that's a fact!
Haven't been able to go back to work yet, not sure Im ready for that yet, Im not the woman I was. My husband is self employed fixing computers and this last year has been very difficult, people want him to diagnose/fix for nothing! Will just have to wait and see.
Am really into couponning and I will always try not to pay retail for anything without checking out discounts/voucher options first and that does save some money. Hand on heart I can honestly say that sometimes couponning has saved my sanity - it has given me something to focus on when all around me is crumbling.
am going to now spend some time this evening planning how I can possibly make £10 a day for the rest of the month. How exiting if I can pull it off.
Thanks for reading and wishing you all gentle and successful days.Love, through the trees, past the sky, beyond the northern lights; and I won't let go. May your soul and spirt fly sweetheart x
My alphabet-girls are with me every step of the way x0 -

Right £3 from mysurvey into paypal, then into bank account...and a quite lovely jubbly £203.52 from a free spin games offer!!! :beer:Crazy...pays for our flights to England which is great, and means we can get back on track with CC repayments in 100 Day Debt Challenge Thread!
Thing is not to get lazy now...can put some bits on ebay tomorrow evening, and have some other bits ending today - I may not be quite as survey obsessive for the rest of the month tho!!!£10 a day in November = £593.31 / £3000
