Oh Aesop, how awful, bet you feel really isolated. I have 'friends' like that and I've been purposely avoiding them...now left with about 2 real friends. My family is like yours, dont speak to them much(I feel like im their survey-they've screened me out!) and they dont help and never have. At least you have a good family unit for your son and your doing everything in your power to provide for your family, and for that alone you should be very proud of yourself xxx2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0

Just spent the last hour on the phone to claim Income Support, I dont really want to as I hate going in for interviews. As im a foster carer my claim shouldnt be affected by it as i dont get a wage from it, only an allowance for the child. I explained I cant work as I foster(lone parent cant do both) The advisor was having none of it saying i get paid for it and has referred me to my local jobcentre. He said there was an available slot for me to go today(in 30 mins!) and when I declined he got really crabby asking why I wont go. I explained I have to take my FC to contact with her parents and he didnt get it. So I have to go in on Monday at 9.50am. At least its first thing, bet its deserted that time in the morning!2025 Mortgage start £378K 2025 Overpayment £103 Savings Challenge 2025 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0

Yet more new videos on Maximiles... have to remember to check regularly for those.
Not noticed this one before: Quidco has £1.10 cashback for signing up to Lifestyle surveys (you have to do a survey as well to get the cashback).
Also, for those not yet registered with Lightspeed, Quidco has £1.40 cashback plus another 90p available for new accounts.
Actually, there are quite a few survey companies on Quidco that offer cashback for signing up. So if you're just getting into the whole survey thing, be sure to check there (and TopCashBack) for possible cashback before signing up!R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was. :sad:0 -

They really don't train these people properly anymore!
When I worked for benefits agency, we had a really lovely CSA adviser and she was! She would listen to the person and then they would ocme ot an arrangement on what could be paid, none of this
"our formula says you must pay this much, sod that it leaves you -£25, without even eating food yet!"
so, I feel your pain, cannot believe they don't train these people. It is all about the stats these days, not the people behind them.
Lady I work with said to me there are 10,000 jobs out there..... and everyone can work if they really want to.... I said no, if the company refuses to take you on, how can you say there is a job out there?
I was refused a job many years ago as the Manager said I would be bored, and it was beneath me. And he didn't want to hire someone that would leave when a better offer came along... the better offer was the benefits agency :rotfl:
I said show me these 10,000 jobs!0 -
