Firefox retaining user names

HI, Is there a way to stop FF from keeping a record of user names I use to log on to various websites? And how can I delete the ones I already have on my PC? This is not necessarily a security breach as it does not keep a record of the P/W, but I would like to know how to control this feature of FF

Thank you for your quick reply, but it's not passwords FF is retaining. In any case the tab for 'remember passwords for site' is not ticked. Any more ideas please?debitcardmayhem wrote: »Preferences/Options Security tab , untick save passwords, and select the saved ones and delete them0 -
Maybe try and set it to "Never remember history"?
Alternatively it could be the Auto-complete settings, but I cannot see where this option is in my version of Firefox...0 -
Has anyone else noticed that FF keeps a list of user names? On mine, it doesn't seem to keep them for banks' websites, but when I log on to sky for instance, and I click on user name, it brings up a window with a list of user names I have used for other sites. May be it's not FF that may be causing this - it could be something else, but I'm at a complete loss as to what it may be. Any suggestions please0

Ooops then that will be in the history settings on the privacy tab, you can clear it from there,
if you look in the display bit there the the option to clear Forms History that should be it, that will not clear cookies site prefs active logins etc (if untick them) Didn't read your OP very well did I4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Thank you again for your help. You're a star . Your suggestion worked fine. This has been bugging me for some time now as I didn't know what was causing it. It's actually a nice feature to have, but it's also nice to know how to undo it.debitcardmayhem wrote: »Ooops then that will be in the history settings on the privacy tab, you can clear it from there,
