I have a pug who is 7 but everyone thinks he's a puppy
. His insurance costs about £30 a month and he has to have high quality food due to his epilepsy which is £55 a bag but lasts about 3 months.
Personally although I love him to bits I would not get another, I couldn't cope with 2!
Mine is very high maintenence but I wouldn't change him for the world (even though he costs me an absolute fortune). He's also spoilt rotten and even has his own personalised bed with his name on itVirgin CC=£2652, Next= [STRIKE]£102.88,[/STRIKE] Very=£475.60, Natwest=£800, Sainsburys CC=£1777.02, Lloyds CC=£498.29, Lloyds Loan= £13,946.18, Car=£4000Total = [STRIKE]£26,147.23[/STRIKE] £23,849.09:eek:0 -

Have to say we did look for a purebred pug, but they were just too expensive. Have thought often about getting another dog, but I think Casper would get very jealous as he loves his mummy. He does share his home with 3 cats, a rabbit who lives in the garden and comes into eat, 4 guinea pigs and a tortoise (very small!!). He is brilliant with them all, except for Harley one of my cats who is very nervous and runs away from Casper and of course Casper chases after him.
Your 'Keith' is beautiful. If he is as besotted with you as you are with him, I wouldn't introduce another one, but that is only my opinion.
WOW!Would love to see a photo of Casper does he look like a Lhasa or a Pug?

I got my first pug Roly around 18 years ago when my children were small. He was a fantastic family dog. I think once you've owned a pug there is no other breed.
I now own four pugs which will probably seem like madness to most people, but I thought I'd post some pics of them.

Of course cross breeds count
I know that Pugs are v.expensive to buy. We were lucky in a way, ouyr keith was born with a Hernia so was being sold 'cheaper' because of this. As we werent interested in breeding from him and just wanted him as a pet we had no issues and havent looked back since.
I adore him but to be honest he loves me but as soon as DH gets home I dont get a look in! He is a daddys boy. Kinda hoped if we got another it might be a mummys pug, they say they tend to fixate on one person? xCharlie1986 wrote: »I have a pug who is 7 but everyone thinks he's a puppy. Awwww, I know what you mean, even though sometimes they are high maintenence it doesnt matter when you love them that much!
keith was at the vets last night for a routine check up. I was a bit worried about his eyes as he has some scarring from some ulcers but they confirmed all was ok. He is on diet food at the mo but he is hovering at the same weight so got some tips on that too.I got my first pug Roly around 18 years ago when my children were small. He was a fantastic family dog. This is my little man, Julius. He's just turned one, but we've only had him since he was 8 months old (was kept by his breeder to show but got too chunky too soon!)
There's a fawn pug we meet in the park sometimes and they are so cute when they play together so I would love to get a second one. MrsMoore - where did you read it was best to introduce a second one before the age of 2?0 -
i used to have 2 and can say it was the hardest work with any amimal i have ever owned! i had a black frenchie x pug and a fawn pug both male, in the end i rehomed my fawn pug as the boys were just constantly at each other fighting, they did have there moments playing nice but the bad by far outweighed the good. for the hapiness of the dogs one was rehomed, i think maybe if i had got a female things could of been diff but will never know and i dont plan on testing it out right now0
