Mighty Oak Air Freshener

I bought a might oak air freshener for my car from Halfords on Saturday, it has been in my car for 2 days and today it has dripped down onto my car plastics and melted the paint off them.
I have never had an air freshener do this before and did not know that car air freshener is an equivalent to plastic paint stripper?!

It's probably carcinogenic too. Seriously, that stuff's made out of plutonium or something. Cars are 'outdoor spaces' as far as I'm concerned. Who cares if they smell bad?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

The car doesn't even smell bad, it is very clean. I just wanted it to smell "nice".
I really didn't know how bad those things were until I saw what it did to my interior, and that was only in the space of a few hours.0 -

Yeah, that gooey stuff's like nothing else on earth. Complain to the manufacturer and ask them to sort out your paintjob.
Mind you, look on the bright side: if it did that to your paint, imagine what breathing it in day in day out would have done to your lungs"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
A good tip to get rid of car smells is to put some instant or coffee beans in an uncovered bowl overnight in the car. It works i've tried it. I hope you manage to get something sorted with Halfords.wins so far: 6 mars balls. 5 mars dvds. make up. hair stuff. moisturiser. Vodkat cocktail kit. 2books. 2 peroni coasters. 3 peroni bottle openers. john smiths shirt.face mask. so diary. Sky+hd and sky world.:j Mascara0

I've emailed Mighty Oak (yesterday) and to be fair they replied today apologising.
I need to send them some photos and get a quote to get it fixed, so hopefully they will sort it out.0 -
I would be interested in seeing an image also, if possible"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

It may not look too drastic to some, but it has bubbled the paint off in such an obvious place and IMO it is bad.
I guess I am lucky I caught it early and wiped most of it off, and also that it didn't drip onto a much more difficult piece to change such as the dashboard or stereo.
Even so, the cost of the new part is £35.
(Sorry about size of picture, I hardly ever upload pics!)0 -
Yeah, it's a problem. Sure, the damage isn't extensive but it's obviously a nasty substance to be able to do that in the first place!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
