Hi MoneySavers
Have just gone back to work 16hrs at minimum wage, been awarded £530.00 per month working tax credits and am waiting to have my housing and council tax benefits re assessed (am a lone parent) HMRC say there is a 4 week delay receiving my paperwork which i need for Benefit assessment!
I just wondered if anybody had an idea what Housing and Council Tax i am likely to be awarded (LHA in Leeds) as am trying to work out my budgets
(am not in receipt of any other benefits apart from working tax credit and child benefit)
thank you in advance!

I'm not really sure to be honest, I think it depends on what size of property your in and what your entitled to for the area.
Have a look here and see if it can help

There is a dedicated calculator on the Leeds Council site too:
leeds.gov.uk/Advice_and_benefits/Benefits/Benefits_calculator.aspx
If all they are waiting for is your Tax Credit info, due to changes in the way this is processed they are likely to receive the information before you even receive your letter.
Also, for the run-on, the requirements are that you received a relevant benefit continuously for 26 weeks prior to your employment, that your work is expected to last greater than 5 weeks and your working 16+ hrs.0 -
I had to pay about £30 per week towards my rent, working 16hrs. And £70 ish per month for council tax.
Have you told your landlord? Mine was very understanding, in case things got a bit tight and allowed me to pay what I could when I could
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
