my wife works full time on natiaonal minimum wage and takes home around £175 pw
i have yet to sign on as i was hopefull of finding a job but i havent yet so i need to go and sign on today.
i have a 7 year old son from a previouse relationship who stays with us 2 days a week.

Your best bet is to log onto entitledto.com or turn2us.com
This will give you ideas/0 -
If you've paid the relevant NICs (which it sounds as if you have) you'll be eligible for contributions based JSA for up to 6 months. After this you'd transfer to means tested JSA which you won't get as your wife is working full time.
You may be eligible for some LHA/HB/CTB but the fact that your son visits you won't be taken into account.
You need to sign on asap and put in a claim.0 -
Does your landlord allow dss if you claim HB. Most don't. As it validates there insurance. You won't get all the rent paid.0
