When can/should I switch

Hi

I have recently received a letter from Eon saying that my contract expires on 31st October and that they will put me onto one of their standard tariffs. I have done the comparison website thing and would like to change supplier as it would be cheaper and fixed. My question is, when can I apply to change? I don't want my contract at Eon to end early but I also don't want to start the newer, more expensive one.

Thanks

  • I have exactly the same question so I'm going to bump this.

    Thanks.
I'm sure I went upstairs for some reason.
  • And me! same question.
  • My direct debit is to increase by 50% on the 1st November even though I am £135 in credit and input my meter readings every month to keep on top of it.

I may just stay on with Eon into November to see how much nicer the gas is that I will be paying for. I guess it will smell sweeter or cook the food faster for that much money?
I'm sure I went upstairs for some reason.
  • Could anyone from Eon possibly answer this for us please?

    Many thanks.

  • For those on Eon Save Online 3 uSwitch have just phoned and they say it should be ok to switch at the end of next week as it takes about 28 days to go through. Hopefully the Scottish Power fixed won't have been pulled by then.

    Hi guys

Switching usually takes between 4 to 6 weeks to complete.

Provided the switch goes through after the end date of Saveonline 3 on 1 November 2011, there'll be no cancellation fee.

We don't give discount on final bills when changing supplier. However, if the contract has been completed, you'll receive all the discount applicable to the tariff even if part of this falls within the final bill.

Hope this helps. Give me a shout if you need any more info as will be happy to help.
