That's what will happen until they generate your first bill.
If you enter your meter readings, that seems to make them generate a bill, but they may also decide to "adjust" your DD payment amount at the same time.

There's a few threads on here relating to EDF's online "system."
But what alanwsg says is right - they accumulate your payments until they generate a bill.

I don't think this is quite as simple as people think. I have been with them for several years with no problems. A bill was due over a week ago but wasn't forthcoming. I have sent them the readings on that date and will see if a bill is generated. The question is why has this started happening? My parents haven't had a bill for many months either. Can't look at their previous bills online as it says there aren't any so it's not an issue about the first bill.

They are gradually transferring people to the new computer system which causes problems all of its own.

 Surely you are thinking about another supplier....

 Or maybe a secret wing of EDF that only the lucky ones get transfered to....

I only managed several days and my problems started :rotfl:
  • I haven't had ONE gas bill from them since I was transferred over in late December 2010! Been having regular electric bills though. TBH I've given up trying to ring them, my account is massively in credit so I know the gas bill (if/when it arrives) is covered. I've dealt with some sh*te companies in my time but EDF are without question top of the steaming pile.

My bills were due on the 20th. The system has always worked in the past but didn't this time. Sent my readings a couple of days ago and notice they have took them as yesterdays readings and created bills. Looks like you may have to send them readings now or not get a bill.
  • bloody hell, what a pain up the xxxx edf really are....
