The above (brief) thread might give you an idea what I'm looking for.
I currently use the 'BeBox' (Thomson TG585 v7), but can't stand it.
I used to have a Linksys that I got on with very well.
I was planning on getting this:
http://www.ebuyer.com/129219-cisco-small-business-wrvs4400n-router-wrvs4400n-uk
But just as I was going to buy, turns out it's not a modem, just the network router and I'd still need a DSL router to attach to it.
So what I'm looking for:
Router/Modem in one, no need for something else to plug in (unless the two together are cheaper than an all in one, but even then, where to put it all)
Gigabit ports. I know that it'll make little difference to the speed of internet connection, but for my local network moving, copying and media streaming.
A decent number of concurrent connections; I use torrents, online TV services and multiple devices all connecting; I'm pretty sure its causing the internet dropouts I'm experiencing from time to time by overloading the current router.
VPN hosting; I currently use a pass-through to my main PC for this, but that only supports one user connecting, and I want to be able to get 3 or 4 really; so I was wanting it hosted on the router itself.
The linksys I had planned does everything but connect to the internet, and I presume I could use the BeBox as a modem, disabling its wireless and DHCP capabilities; would doing this reduce the number of concurrent connections and allow that all to be dealt with by the new one? Also, would using it as a modem only still allow the VPN to host multiple users; I assume that in modem only mode, it doesn't deal with any VPN pass-through or port forwarding, just passes everything on to the router?
Sorry if I'm asking things in a confusing way, or a funny order... thought I knew what I needed and how it'd work, now I'm not so sure...

It reccomends me nothing but draytec-probably because I want VPN. So looks good. Is there any particular benefit to using one as modem and router rather than having them separate?I have a Belkin modem/router....PM if interested.
