Erm, that's one single house. Up for auction I believe.

I suggest you look at the next few houses to get an idea of the rough prices there.

40k difference to the first (SSTC) 3 bedroom house.

I'd also suggest you look at the wages available. Full time is approx 18k.

    From the article:

"The village’s local primary school, which achieves consistently good results, makes it attractive to parents. And a two-bedroom home there will set you back £150,837 - almost £17,000 less than the national average".

    and

"while the typical salary of £37,566 is well above the national average of £24,170, according to the data".

There's no pleasing some people. Even when they live in one of the best places in the UK to bring up a family they still have to find a negative angle - real or otherwise.

You were talking about families, and are now introducing 2 bed homes at 150k to suggest it's affordable. Head, sand.

As for the salary, I don't know where they get that from. The government statistics suggest very much different.

As for wotsthat usual, desperate attempt to "join in the discussion". It's nothing to do with being negative. It's looking at figures. You really are somewhat desperate to have a go at an online personality.

    Not at all.

Just rather envious that you live in one of the nicest parts of the UK and surprised that you are loathe to admit it. Possibly because one of your favourite 'online personalities' posted it.

BTW I've put an offer in on an apartment down your way. They won't accept it though - even I know I'm taking the p**s. I might send the vendors a link to this forum; they'll be begging to sell when they read just how negative the outlook is for housing, jobs, petrol prices, immigration, benefits, single mothers, the weather, etc.

    I don't live there.

Devon is the biggest county in the UK! It's lovely, never said any different, and am on record to say I'm very lucky to live here.

Am I not allowed to look at the figures and the house pimperne posted up and tell him to open his eyes, without being told I'm negative?

Have a look at the IOM (if you can get a work permit).

Low crime, lower unemployment, goodish schools, uni tuition paid.
