I was under the impression the iphone bluetooth is for a headset only, and data cannot be transfered via bluetooth...
  • Open settings > About > and scroll down. You will see the bluetooth code there like this xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

    Hope that helps.

The "bluetooth code like this xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx" isn't what you need to pair the iPhone with the Mac.

Bluetooth pairing is done by setting one device as "discoverable" and looking for it in the Bluetooth application on the Mac (right click on the bluetooth symbol at the top right from memory is one way to bring up the pairing on a Mac).

Once the phone is found on the Mac enter a number (typically a random 4 digits like 5678) and you will then be asked to do the same on the phone.

At that point you may be disappointed as annoyingly Bluetooth is a bit limited on iOS devices !
