Nationwide mortgage DD instruction --> Flex Account

A week ago I requested my Nationwide mortgage monthly payments to be taken from Nationwide Flex Account (for years they were being taken from Halifax). The DD instruction still doesn't show on my Nationwide Internet banking site. So I rang Nationwide and ask about it and they told me that it wouldnt show until I actually pay (in 2 weeks time). Is it normal?
All other DD instructions from outside Nationwide appear on my Internet banking site a few days after my request and before the money is taken. It's a bit weird that Nationwide to Nationwide instruction takes so long to appear / works differently. Obviously I don't want to be late with the payment and that's why I'm worried. I would feel better if I could see it's set up.

I don't know how Nationwide's systems work but Co-op's definitely show DDs online as soon as they are set up, even if no payment has yet been taken. Can the telephone banking helpdesk not confirm that it's been set up?We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

I have a Nationwide mortgage and Nationwide FlexAccount from which the mortgage is paid. It doesn't show as a DD, it is an internal payment and shows as a regular transfer each month.
I believe it shows under regular payments rather than DDs.0 -

Oh ok then I think.
It doesn't show anywhere yet, but telephone customer service people confirmed it's been set up. I'll keep an eye on it.0 -
Just gone and looked. Had a mortgage with them for a year and a half now - always coming out of the Nationwide FlexAccount - it doesn't show anywhere - but still comes out every month.0

I have a nationwide mortgage to and pay from the flex account, it never shows in the direct debit section and always comes out in the evening of the due date not the morning, so dont panic if not showing paid until the next day.0

Natwest are similar, when you setup a direct debit it doesn't show in your online banking until the first payment has been taken.0
