Quidco cashback has gone up - can I cancel and start again?

On Saturday I set up a new car insurance policy with Aviva through Quidco which offered £30 cashback.

Unfortunately I have seen today that they have upped their cashback to £80.

As I'm within the 14 day cancellation limit, is it possible to cancel the policy and then apply for a new car insurance with them through quidco again and at the new, higher, cashback.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

(have reposted in the quidco thread as not sure where to post)

I would check the small print of you car insurance policy, even within 14 days a lot of insurance companies will still charge an "admin fee" of around £20 (or more).

Might not be worth the hassle.

Hi as stated some insurers charge up to £45 plus remember the cashback is coming via 3rd party affiliate networkr so you could cause confusion and end up without any cashback !! - are you prepared to take the risk ?
  • Do not assume that what you are paying will be the same as your current policy. Check this first as it is perfectly possible that Aviva have increased their rates to cater for the increased cashback.
  • Thank you all for your help. I did another quote online and, would you believe it, it's gone down by over £10! That means my car insurance for the whole year (assuming cashback goes through without problems) will be just over £100. Over 50% off my renewal price.

Oh, and no cancellation fee with new insurer either.

I'm over the moon! Even if cashback doesn't work I'm still on to a winner as it was the cheapest quote of all compared.
