Food price cuts

Hi mrswive,
As this is a grocery shopping thread rather than Old Style I've moved it over to the food shopping and grocery board.

I had been getting till spits for £4 off a £30 spend for a few weeks but the last few times I have been in Nada! So I guess it's case of robbing Peter to pay Paul.:(Haters are gonna hate - you're not obliged to participate0

I looked at the Tesco "the great big price drop" and they have knocked a few pennies off some items. Very dissapointing. Oh and double clubcard points is no more either. I like Mr T but this is a rubbish move. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yes I have noticed about the milk as well! I normally get 3 four pints for £3 now it's £1.25 each & no deal so 75p more. Off to sainsburys for me!0

This is a shockingly bad move.
Just been to T's to get a few bits. Tesco was quiter than normal. Almost *everything* is on a yellow label, with 2 for £x and half price this and save that. It's confusing as hell as alot of the labels overlap and dont have the usual, 10p/ml 15p/mil bits that you can compare x with ySo its hard to see if your saving money or getting done.
Although saying that i have to thank mt T for his **overkill** on the number of till operatives to cope with the non-demand.... about 30 tills open for 4/5 people activtly at them, no not 4/5 per checkout, 4/5 between 30 checkouts.
Also if you have a look at mr T's website, alot of the pricecuts end in november.
How about mr T stops artificially increases prices prior to pricedrops, and does some propper price slashing.
Asda's is still cheaper on almost everything i buy.
Hey, i've got an idea mr T, how about dropping FUEL costs. That'd get the punters in!!!
Tesco pricedrop rating: 1/10 (waste of time)0 -
The person who will end up carrying the cost of these "cuts" will be the farmer - as usual.
When all the "budget" shoppers, who demand milk at £1 for 4 pints have driven the UK milk producers to the wall - watch Mr T ramp up his prices then - and blame the "foreigners" !0 -
i went shopping in 'T' s today and i didnt notice any big price cuts. But then i did have my disabled daughter with me and spent most of my time grabbing things out of the trolley that she had put in !!:)life is what you make it, make it fun !0

Finally got my monthly shop sorted... it was a nightmare going through all the 'deals' and trying to find out who was better value...
Normally i get 75% Mr T, 25% Mr S... now 50% and 50% in quantity... but Mr S get's more of my money! And in a months time when all those 'offers' are gone... I guess Mr T will get 25% of my shopping! I only buy from whomever is cheapest on the day!
My mum used to have a saying 'don't cut off your nose to spite your face' I think Mr T would learn a lot from my mum...We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Well back from Mr. T's, and i have to say that the 'round pound' policy people were talking about seems non existant?
There were so many deals such as B1G1F and 3 for 2 that it didn't look much different, though admittedly i did only get a few bits for todays/tomorrows dinner.
I thought they were radically changing, and taking their 'falsly increased to look like a special offer' deals off the shelves and replacing them with just cheaper prices?
Anyone have any ideas?0 -

And Mr T as well, funnily enough. 'Creamfields' is the Tesco 'budget brand' for milk.0
