Non-bio washing powder deals/brands?

or something like this from ebay ( for 4p per wash )
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10KGS-TOP-BRAND-CRUSHED-WASHING-POWDER-TABLETS-/140602362274?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20bc8dc9a2
Havent tried it myself - but lots of good feedback.
I have looked at that & the same crushed tablets offered by other sellers at lower prices (when delivery is taken into consideration) but the figures don't add up.
It is allegedly persil tablets although that can't be confirmed by the sellers but if they are persil then the individual tablets contain a pre measured 33 grams of powder each & 2 tablets (66g of powder) is required for a standard wash so sufficient powder for the 350 washes they claim you will get out of each bag would weigh 23.1kg. The 10kg of crushed tablets they supply would in reality only be sufficient for 151 washes at the recommended rate of 66g per standard wash. Still a fairly reasonable price but nowhere near as good as they are claiming.0 -
Wilkinson's own brand is very good - it's £1.99 for a small box (15 washes? Can't quite remember!))0

I'm currently looking at ways to lower my shopping bills, and as we get through alot of washing I thought i'd start here!
I just wondered if there anyone has seen any good deals for non-bio powder? We currently use fairy or persil, which are the only ones we have tried (non-bio as we have babies) but not sure if there are any other brands (cheaper?) we could try?
ThanksMy husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -
I've just been interviewed on the Jeremy Vine show (fame at last!) about laundry gloop!
Here's the Gloopy Thread. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/35756Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Went to Morrisons this morning and they have the 3.3kg (42 wash) Fairy non bio, for £7.
Hope that helps!0 -
