By including any mention of gifts ...cash or otherwise with the invite I think it may give the impression that you are assuming the guest is welcome at the wedding only if they purchase something for you or contribute financially...
Personally I would not mention gifts or cash or any other gesture until the guest raises the question...which they will if they want to celebrate your partnership that way...frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I have seen wedding invitations that point out a gift list, but they usually go something like "your presence with us on our happy day is more than enough but should you wish to give us a present we have a gift list at ____". Usually a lot more politely than that though.0
