Used car playing up. Returnable?

Hi, recently bought a used Citreon C3 from a local used car dealer, with a 3 month warranty. After about 3 weeks the engine management light came on. It's been back to the guy 3 times now, about to be 4 as the light has returned again. The fault code points towards it being the accelarator pedal, which he has now replace, to no effect. Anyone know where I stand as far as returning the car to him? He seems like a genuine bloke, but this is getting a bit much for me. I just want a car that works! :(

Put it in writing that you are unhappy with the vehicle and give them the last chance to repair it. You want the 3 months to
start from the date of this repair not the purchase date.

The car needs to go to a qualified motor engineer who knows his ABCD of diagnostics
A= Alternator, check voltage for over/ under voltage
B= Battery, check battery is retaining and accepting charge and all cells are correct.
C= Current, check all earth points with an impedance meter between the fault sensor area and the battery such as bulkheads, engine blocks, by pass and re-check impedance
D = Diagnostics, Now connect the diagnostics meter if ABC are correct.

A diagnostics code reader in the wrong hands is a complete recipe for disaster replacing one part after another when the problem often is a sympathy problem of a simple problem elsewhere .
