  • yes you can partition it and choose from the boot menu

make sure to backup data before making a partition

(why not just buy another hd again?)

edit: technically you can even put 2 windows on the same drive one in /windows and one in /windows2 etc. but can cause issues with data/programs etc.

Why not just do it the same way you did it originally and unplug the other hard drive while you install to the new one. That said, why are you choosing to go down this route rather than just using the user management features a single install of windows provides? You are effectively wasting gigabytes of space on redundant system files.

I might, but 2 2TB hard drives in one computer?

    This is what I bought.

The present one and the one that failed were both 250GB
you can have one 250GB hd and the other 2TB in the pc (assuming motherboard supports it etc.) - they don't need to be the same size
