well we have been getting about £100 a week for six months( we have 3 kids) and now they say we will be getting 38£ a month by cheque instead, so as hubby is out of work we will probably have to move house cos we cant afford to pay rent. that money used to almost pay our rent and shopping money. Hubby is having to go on jobseekers and we are looking into housing benefit etc, the worse thing is the guy on the phone at tax credits said manual payments are a last resort but i haven't had any other mail from them or a reason why the drop in amount either.THE SHABBY SHABBY FOUNDER0

I am just off the phone with these clowns too. They are ridiculous. The guy on the phone couldn't have been lovelier, my heart really goes out to him as he was completely powerless to help me. Basically, I have applied, they have logged my application, the form was fully completed and now its just sitting on their computer system. He has no idea why I haven't been paid any money (its now months rather than weeks since I applied) and says all I can do is wait as they are apparently not allowed to contact the actual 'processing' office to ask what the delay is, and they won't give details to me so I can't contact them either. What a joke!
Also, I filled in my earnings from my P60, down to the exact pound earned, and they have entered it into their computer that my earnings were an estimate. Why?!!0
