please help, nokia connect to internet

thank you so much in advance for any help, and taking the time to read my problem
i cannot get my nokia n8 to connect to my sky broadband? my s.i.l. also cannot get his mobile samsung to connect either?
yet any other friends can
i have entered password key as asked but it still won't.
i'm not a techno person, just trying to save some of my monthly allowance on mobile, thought it would be alright while at home?
any thing i'm doing wrong please advise in simple terms

Are you trying to connect with bluetooth or Ovi Suite ?

Its a common issue with the N8. Try this page as a guy had the same issue and solved it, he stated what he did to fix it http://discussions.europe.nokia.com/t5/Connectivity/NOKIA-N8-Unable-to-connect-WLAN-Network-not-found/td-p/773054
