Need some help - Have tried googling this and so far drawn a blank.
3 days ago internet started playing up. After trying the usual fixes I noticed that the issue seemed to be my homeplug connectors.
When homeplug ethernet was removed from the sky broadband router all was well. The minute it was connected the lights on the homeplug flashed like xmas trees and the router stopped sending any broadband signal (wired or wireless).
I left it a couple of days and reconnected and its working now but I cant find any other examples of this on the web.
Has anyone had similar issues and if so did they identify a cause.
So far my options are
- Squeezebox installed Friday (cant see it being that - all wireless)
- Kids may have hit reset on one of the homeplugs (again unlikely but cant see it having this impact - surely one of the plugs may drop out of network)
I have 4 homeplugs and tried rotating them to see if it was a fault in a single one but all caused the same problem.
Am very nervous about this happening again. The homeplugs have been faultless for the 3 months I have had them and very pleased.
Any thoughts?
Cheers in advance.

1) What make/model are teh homeplugs?
2) Do you have all 4 plugged in at the same time?
2a) Have you tried just using a pair of plugs and then adding more to the network one-by-one?0 -
All 4 are 200m plc passthrough homeplugs - unbranded but purchased at same time and from same online store.
Last three months have had 1 plugged in to modem, 2 others plugged into an upstairs room going to 2 pcs, and the 4th going to a humax box.
When trying to fix this I have removed the humax one and tried to get any decent connection between the modem and a single pc upstairs.
Had it going again but once again speed has dropped off.
I have now put both the upstairs ones into different wall sockets (previously one was off a spur) Couldnt fit both onto the same double due to size.
Currently working ok and did as you suggested getting one working and then setting the second up.
Wondering if issue may be electrical load on the system.
The double has the passthrough in one and socket and 12 plugs coming off the other. Have removed some of these and seems to help.

Hopefully it was a nearby Radio Amateur Operator keying up and giving you as much hell as you're giving him. Homeplugs turn your entire house wiring into one big transmitting and receiving antenna.0
