Blackberry 9300 curve key lock fault?

When I press the 'a' key to lock the keypad on my blackberry it unlocks automatically after a few minutes. I've taken the battery out of the phone and put it back in again to completely re-boot the phone and I've checked for software updates and am up to date with all these. The O2 guru won't be in the shop until tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of anything else I could try?
