Better bank accounts?

Hello there,
I'm new to the site today, so sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section.
My question basically is - Which banks do you personally think are good to go with? I'm 19, I work for my local council as an Apprentice Landscaper, my wages are not great but I have a second job at my local Sainsbury's.
I earn about 800 after tax a month, as my Apprentice wage is so low, I've been with RBS for about 9 years, but only used it properly for the past year. I also had a Lloyds, but find them not to be great, also I think RBS are not great a like.
So I was just wondering, to start fresh, get all my debts and direct debit's in one place, where would be good to go? I would like maybe a low APR overdraft and maybe a credit card to, if it wouldn't be asking for too much.
I really look forward to hearing back from people on here.
Thanks, JJ.

Are you in England or Scotland? RBS branches in England are being sold to Santander, and Lloyds TSB branches in Scotland are also going to be sold off. These sales include the customers.
But all banks are pretty uniformly evil. First Direct has a brilliant phone service, but you might not earn enough for them. If there's a good local building society that does a current account, don't ignore it."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
Thank you very much for the reply, I live in England, I wasn't aware RBS where going to be sold. I may move over to another this Friday then.
I was thinking would it be better to get up to scratch with my payments, lik my contract etc, before I move over. So it feels all fresh?0 -
I would recommend First Direct, or at least try applying with them. I'm the same age as you but a student and I have a current account & credit card with them.0
