    Hi all,

I,ve got a 4 day weekend:D. So I,ve treated us to an M&S meal deal:T:T I had to buy 2 as the kids decided to join us tonight, but £20 for a meal for 4 inc 2 bottles of wine is fab:beer:

Now I must admit to being a bit dozy, as I have only just clicked that Tuesday is November, I was thinking I have 2 more weekends in October - so (she whispers...) I think I might have come in under budget this month - I can,t beleive it:D:D:D

Will update sig now and tot up over the weekend. Also have a read back.

Have a fab evening all xx
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130
  • I'm declaring that I'm rubbish at this, completely lost track quite soon in the month and have just added up all receipts to get £247.19:eek: and I'm sure I missed some. I've been shopping today and to the market so I'm hoping to last till next week and the new month without anything else.
Could I have £200 for November as well please. I'd like to get it below that but actually hitting this target first is probably a good idea.:o
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

  • Oh dear Nov/Dec is off to a bad start already. We've had to re-stock the freezer and today I ventured into Sainburys for a 'few bits and bobs'...hmmmm....£15 for 5 items; reminded me why I don't normally shop there and why I've stopped doing 'pop in' shops. Only went in today because I was passing and fancied some fresh pasta. that'll teach me.

Ah well, will try and get back on track when my money goes in the shopping account on Monday.

Had to do a trip to Mr T's on way home from work, picked up some cat food whilst boxes of 12 pouches were BOGOF, some frozen buffet nibbles which were also BOGOF and some milk, spending £9.38. Hubby really fancied a chippy tea and seeing he has a very early start in the morning and on Sat morning too I thought I'd treat us, costing £5. Getting rather close to my planned £120 a fortnight already and it's only been 6 days!

Now the trick is(OK Im boring)to add up those receipts EVERY day! It is what will keep you on track and it's less of a chore if you do it daily rather than piling them up. /it is also more accurate as they are less likely to get lost and even if they do-you can retrace your steps for the day and make a very educated guess as to what you spent. I have a diary just for this purpose but you could also make a memo on your phone or send a text to yourself. Crazy but it works!:money:

Anyway-for all of those who have overspent be happy that you would have spent a lot more if you were not on this challenge. Just being aware of where your money is being spent is one of the most important aspects of moneysaving so don't be disheartened or think you have failed.

When doing my veggy meal today hubby said "are you sure you haven't put any any meat in it". I nearly said "no chance-I want to make it cheap"but decided not to!!!
