hi i have just got a repayment of my ppi , and im on benefits will i have to declare it, and will i be able to spend it as i want thanks ron

I think your allowed upto 5k in savings before you should declare it.
In the real world the benefits office will never know whats in your account as they do not have any legal access to them and unless someone wants to inform on you they never will.
Your free to spend the cash on whatever you want as it was your money in the first place.
I respect your integrity on wanting to be above board and if you feel compelled then speak to your benefits advisor.
Check online about how much your allowed in your bank account before it affects your benefits.0 -
thanks a lot we are allowed 10k savings, and other people have said similer things, but iam very bad with my nerves and dont want to break the law, also would they count it as savings or what if i did declare it..0

if its in your personnel bank account then its an asset and seen as savings.0

I could be wrong but it may differ from single to joint in regards of savings via benefits.The one and only "Dizzy Di"
