It's not a very economical diesel though.

?? nearly 40mpg is very economical, especially for a 2 tonne car!

I actually really want this (not at £6k) but I think I'd solve the national debt crisis due to the insurance premium tax I'd need to pay if I did :rotfl:

I recently was emailed an insurance renewal quote for one of these (I must have been bored sometime a year ago and put it in to see how much) - it was only £1500 and I'm younger than you!

So it'll go to some dodgy auction house with no service history and 70k on the clock then? :D

Compared to £12k from a independent with 70k on.

Anyone know where I can buy mental stuff like this for closer to what it's actually worth?

Or are they all clocked and sold on by Mr Daley?

    It's 33.2mpg combined? That's not good.
The 2005 revision onwards is improved slightly but still not great.

It may be ok "for a 2 tonne car" but that's missing the point completely, as the point was people don't want big 2 tonne cars that aren't good on fuel anymore, so they're not worth much.

What amazes me is that it's a 54/55 plate? and fitted with a casette deck! could you even buy casettes in 2004? my mate bought a 53 plate 3 series this year and it came with a tape deck. i found it hilarious. He has since found the equivalent CD player and swapped it out, but why BMW, a top car maker, were still fitting tape decks onto new cars in 2003-2005 is beyond me. I know it's not the most important thing when buyin a car...

I've always found german cars tend to be as low a spec as possible, so they can charge the earth for the "optional extras".

So they could sell you a cd player as an expensive 'option'?
