Car advertised at wrong insurance group

I have just put a £200 deposit on a 2002 VW Polo 1.2 that is advertised on the website and on the forecourt as group 2 insurance when in fact (after checking various sources online) it's group 4.
Is this something I should take up as an issue ?

would be grounds to get your deposit back (although there are few grounds which stop you getting your deposit back).
Thing is it depends f the 2 was for the old insurance structure or the new tiers - it might be a 2 in old scale but 4 in new - consumers aren't really too familiar with the newer structure yet...
To be honest, I haven't found groups make THAT much difference in low to middle range. My current car is a middle group (9) and my older car worth similar was a 14 - the insurance on the new car was higher than the old. Go figure...0 -
I won't bother making it an issue then.0

You should already have a quote anyway, it is foolish not to, it reveals hidden things like imports, change of plates, written off ect.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Some cars in insurance group 4 maybe cheaper than other in insurance group 2.
In 2002 it was probably in group 2, But now they have changed groupings it might be a 4.
All the dealer will do is find a roadtest mag or old price guide saying its group 2. Maybe his
insurance class it as a group 2?
At the end of the day its the renewal price that counts.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
