Hello,
Thanks in advance for any help. I am self-employed and as from January 2011 will not be able to take my van within the M25 due to the low emissions zone!!!
My van has 59,000 miles on it and is a 'V' reg 1999. It is in very good condition, has never let me down, perfect size for my work, has road tax and insurance PLUS i paid £500+ on sign writing.
I like many many many others are being discriminated against and our lively hoods are at risk due the government forcing us to purchase new vans!!!
By the looks of it, i will have to pay out £8,000+ of my hard earned money just to replace the van i already have!!!!!.....This isn't going to generate anymore work for me, this won't make the telephone ring and the new van is going to depreciate at an alarming rate!!!!
Basically (and sorry for my rant) but is there a scheme or compensation available to help the hard working replace their vans and continue to work or are we supposed to just go under and sign on the dole?
Many thanks for anyone's postive help.

Hi,
Don't know that much about it ...you mean 2012 I assume not 2011.
I thought the 2012 stuff was about 3.5 ton and over ...have I got this wrong ?It's not just about the money0 -
Got a letter stating my van doesn't apply from january 2012.0
-
I thought there was some sort of filter you had to register and fit otherwise you have to pay some sort of charge.
Hopefully someone will be along that knows about itIt's not just about the money0 -

This is because NOBODY is paying attention to the fact we have been placed under summary justice, which is actually banned under international law.
Summary Justice is trial and sentence by authority with no right to innocence, it allows local authority's to charge penalty's, which are not classed as fines so you can not claim innocence.
Summary justice must be repealed in England, if not you can expect one penalty after another for what is basic living and there is nothing you can do but obey.
Justice must be restored, penalties are summary justice, summary justice is against international law.
how can we claim to be bringing freedom to countries we invade yet deny our own citizens the right to justice and innocence.
How many more of these penalties will we allow before we fight back ?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Fit an LPG kit, I have read LPG vehicles can register for exemption.
And yes you can fit LPG to petrol and diesel cars, Petrol runs on LPG or petrol.
But diesel vehicles can combine the 2 for economy and emissions or for extra power.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for all your help and positive replies. I was hoping there was going to be a 'magic' answer but basically I (like many others) are being had over!!!
Went to a Vauxhall dealer to find out about the '£7500' emissions discount i am being offered on a new van to ease the forced spending i will have to make to survive in business and the total price with my 'special reduction' was MORE than the average Joe could buy the same van down the road!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck to everybody in the same position as me......once again the hard working tax payer has been stuffed royally!!!!0
