Hi,
I read this forum quite often and normally find the answers I'm looking for without actually having to post. However I cannot find advice for my situation today and all advice is greatly appreciated.
Yesterday I purchased a new Xbox 360 4gb with Gears of War from HMV in Leeds. When I got the Xbox home it didn't work and the screen kept coming up with an E74. So i repacked the Xbox and took it back to the shop. When I explained what had happened to the chap he opened the Xbox and straight away noticed that the Xbox I had brought back was an Xbox elite. I didn't know that all new Xbox's are now slim so had not noticed when opening it that the Xbox inside shouldn't have been in there.
HMV have told me to come back on Monday as they need to find out how that Xbox got in to the new Xbox box. Where do I stand on this? I cannot prove that I haven't swapped a new Xbox slim for a broken old Elite and am worried they think that I'm trying to con them. I'm also unhappy about having to go back and fourth in to town and feel I deserve some sort of compensation for this.
Thank you for any replies in advance

It's hard for anyone to give you advice on the situation at this time, Probably should have waited to monday and see what HMV have to say.0

Presuming they refuse to swap it or give me a refund what are my rights in this situation? I appreciate that they have not said no yet....but I cant stop worrying about it, even though I have done nothing wrong0

there's no point speculating as it wont help things.
go in monday and see what they say. you could potentially be on a hiding to nothing, but we'll try and give you the best advice here, but without a response from hmv, there's no point in saying how to answer themhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y

their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
