redundancy and pension

Can anyone tell me if having a small pension affects the redundancy payment you are entitled to? I was expecting to get 6 weeks pay - about £720 but have received a letter today saying I will only get £15.54 ie 6 weeks at £2.59! I'm really hoping this is a mistake but wondered if it is because of my pension.

It shouldn't normally, but we don't know the terms here - have you asked the employer for an explanation?
