Replacement MacBook Pro Battery

Does anyone have any experience of Buying non-apple batteries?
My MacBook Pro battery has given up charging and I need a new one. Apple charge £101 for a new replacement. Which is more than I can afford atm. So looked on ebay. There are non-apple ones for £20 or less. Do these work? will they charge? will they explode? are they worth the saving?

Whilst they will work, you'll be replacing them every 6 to 12 months and they'll drop off in the amount of use you get per charge far quicker. They also don't last as long on a single charge. So you might as well just get the Apple one if you plan on keeping it for any length of time as over the lifespan of the Apple battery, it'll cost you more in £20 replacements.
