Rugby Tickets

Options
Hoping for some advice here. I was hoping to buy some tickets to see England play in the 6 nations next year for me and my other half as a treat, however I'm coming unstuck.
Prices are over £300 a ticket with a hefty booking fee on top. I'm still finding it hard to find any info on what it means by different categories of tickets (i.e. where you would be seated with a cat 1 to a cat 4) Also I'm discovering that face value for tickets is around £50-£75 mark but these prices tend to go to those in rugby clubs.
Anyone here been to Twickenham or have any experience of buying tickets?
Thanks

  • Siren, try submitting a request on HUKD, click on Deal Request. I also found this though not sure if it's much help to be honest.
  • You really need to be a member of either a local rugby club - which will get an allocation of tickets and you can then apply for them. Or you need to become a member of the RFU Supporters Club and apply for them there.
You should be able to get tickets for the Italy game but the others - especially Wales & France - will be more difficult.
Neither of these will guarantee you tickets of course.

Or, the final option is to go to Twickenham on the day and buy from a tout (not to be recommended)

Interested to know why the Wales + France games are considered bigger occasions than the Scotland game, Calcutta Cup and all? Cheers!

Edit: I'm guessing that one is at Murrayfield next spring!!
  • £300+ is outrageous for a ticket.

Yup unfortunalty that is the only way your going to get face value tickets, Me and my husband are welsh and we had been living in England for the last four years as my husband was a rugby coach and ref and was able to get tickets to see England play in twickinham which he went to a few games but we really wanted to see Wales at cardiff which there was no way we were able to get hold of them because of he only coached and refereed in England so i ended up paying the 300 quid for two tickets to see Wales and England on the 14 th feb ( valentines day pressie to hubby) back in 2009 and i can honestly say it was worth every penny. Would not pay it again but it was amazing and yes was expensive but i dont regret paying it and we both have fab pictures and fond memories of seeing wales play against england on our own homeground.
